M.2 NVME vs SSD vs SSHD vs HDD Game Loading Times

M.2 vs SSD vs SSHD vs HDD Game Loading Times. Welcome back guys, I thought it might be a good time to do an update to my M.2 vs SSD game loading times comparison video that was published last year. For this one I’ve decided to add in a SSHD drive and a HDD to the mix to help you get a better understanding of how fast these drives can load some of today’s most popular games.

****SSHD results are from the 4th load****
****Song name: Lost Time (Youtube Library)****

One of the most common question I get from viewers is “is NVME for gaming worth it” and as you can see from the M.2 vs SSD section of the video, it really isn’t worth the money for a few seconds less in loading times. That being said, an M.2 NVME drive will speed up production workflow and window boot times but for gaming there’s no justifiable difference.

I really hope you like this M.2 NVME vs SSD vs SSHD vs HDD game loading time comparison video and find it useful. As always, a thumbs up would be greatly appreciated and if you like my videos please subscribe for more.

  1. 4:46 over 1 min to load on a SSD…lmao, i wouldn't take a game like that home even if it was free, that's just disrespectful.

  2. TL;DW: you get the most benefit going from an HDD to an SSD. Going from a HDD to a SSHD, or from a SATA SSD to a M.2 SSD, gives you minimal benefit.

Thanks for the video! Very good information, presentation, and editing.

  3. So what is even the point of SSHD over HDD? It costs like twice as much and isn't even that much faster.

  4. gods I just recently got one of the M.2 ones.. and holy hell is it fast.. not just in benchmark, but in action.. LOVE it! If i'd seen this before tho, it would've sold me way sooner!

  5. but the HDD gaming doesnt reduce FPS right?only loading times. i can live with that unless SSD has more FPS than the HDD!

  6. Man, even M.2 takes a long ass time for those AC:Odyssey load screens, crazy
EDIT: WHAT ON EARTH BATTLEFIELD 5

  7. Hi , I wonde how did you record loading screens?
Did you use a computer Recording Screen software ? Isn't this affecting loading times as well?

  8. Yeah but the thing is ssds are way more expensive and you dont get enough space, ill stick with good old hdd my slow friend

  9. So I've sdd at the place of hdd & hdd in caddy (dvd drive). Although most data is in hdd as well as games. So should I transfer it to ssd first for better performance?????
